Booking a first checkup, moving a cleaning or dealing with a tooth that’s suddenly started to hurt? Highland Kitchener Dentist is easy to reach. Our office is at 140 Highland Rd W, Kitchener, ON N2M 3B8, and the quickest way to talk to us is by phone at 519-885-1598. You can also send a message using the appointment request form on this page. Here’s what to expect when you get in touch.

Reaching our Kitchener office

  • Phone: 519-885-1598. Best for booking, changes and anything urgent.
  • Address: 140 Highland Rd W, Kitchener, ON N2M 3B8.
  • Online: the appointment request form above, or the email address listed with our contact details.

If you send a request online, we’ll get back to you as soon as we can to confirm a time. For anything time sensitive, like pain or a broken tooth, please call rather than email so we can respond faster.

What to expect when you call

When you call to book, we’ll ask a few quick questions: your name, a phone number, whether you’ve been to us before and what the visit is for. If you have dental insurance, we’ll ask for your plan details. If something specific is bothering you, describe it. “My lower left molar hurts when I drink something cold” helps us book the right amount of time and plan ahead.

New patients usually start with an exam, and often a cleaning and x-rays. If you’ve had x-rays taken recently at another office, mention it. With your permission, we can request copies.

Preparing for your first visit

To make your first appointment go smoothly, please bring:

  • Your completed patient forms, available on our Patient Centre page
  • Your insurance information and the plan holder’s details
  • A list of medications you take
  • Any questions or concerns you’d like to talk about

Arriving a few minutes early gives you time to settle in and hand over your paperwork.

If you have a dental emergency

Call us as soon as you can and explain what’s happened. Toothaches, knocked out or broken teeth, lost fillings or crowns and swelling in the gums are all reasons to call. We’ll ask questions to understand how urgent it is and do our best to help.

A few things you can do while you wait:

  • For a knocked out adult tooth, hold it by the crown (not the root), rinse it gently if it’s dirty and try to put it back in the socket. If you can’t, keep it in milk and call right away.
  • For a broken tooth, rinse with warm water and save any pieces.
  • For a lost crown, keep it safe and bring it with you.
  • For a toothache, rinse with warm water and gently floss around the tooth in case something is stuck.

Go to a hospital emergency department instead if you have facial swelling that’s affecting your breathing or swallowing, bleeding that won’t stop, or a jaw injury along with a head injury.

Insurance and billing questions

Every dental plan is different. If you’d like to know how a predetermination works or what your plan covers for a particular treatment, give us a call and we’ll be glad to explain.

We look forward to hearing from you. To book a visit at our Kitchener dental office, call Highland Kitchener Dentist at 519-885-1598.
