Boo! 👻 Halloween is almost here, and everyone at Highland Kitchener Dentist wants to wish our patients and their families a happy Halloween on Saturday, October 31, 2026.

It’s a night for dressing up, decorating the porch and walking the neighbourhood with friends and family. We hope yours is filled with great costumes and plenty of laughs.

We know candy is part of the fun, so we’ll keep our advice short and sweet:

  • Enjoy treats after a meal instead of snacking on them all day.
  • Chocolate is a better choice than sticky or chewy candy that clings to teeth.
  • Sour candies are acidic, so have them in moderation and rinse with water afterward.
  • Don’t chew on hard candy or ice, which can crack teeth.
  • Brush with fluoride toothpaste and floss before bed.

For parents, one helpful idea is to keep the candy bag somewhere out of sight and hand out a couple of pieces after dinner. It keeps things fair and helps the stash last.

Most of all, stay safe. Make sure costumes are easy to see in the dark, bring a flashlight and cross at corners.

Have a happy and safe Halloween! 🎃
